How’s everyone feeling after the start of the new year? I’m le tired. 😅 I feel a little low on time and energy these days, as if I’m moving through molasses. It could be because of a number of things: it could be because I had a big month last month, or because my construction set for the restaurant is due this week, or because I haven’t had enough time and space to recharge, or maybe all the above and all at once! And yup, you guessed it, Mercury is also doing her thang again. Tell me I’m not the only one feeling this way!

Louis was editing my last issue and he kept saying, damn, I forgot that happened and man, we did a lot last year. Writing that issue, I basically looked through my calendar, browsed my iPhoto, and pulled out my journals from the last two years to re-read and try to remember what I was feeling and hoping for during those times. We naturally forget and don’t give ourselves enough credit when we make progress since growth is so gradual. And I don’t know about you, but my personal growth is very motivating to me, so I like having record of it, proof that I’ve made sh*t happen! With that said, each year, I treat myself to a fresh new notebook to kick off my year of journaling (yup, I’m one of those). It’s usually filled with a lot of ideas, goal-setting, vision boarding, and reflecting. It’s cathartic for me and it’s fun to have something to look back on!

I’ve religiously (as in, three years in a row) used Wit & Delight’s note to self notebooks because of the tighter lined pages, the overall size (small enough to fit in a handbag, but large enough to write substantially on each page), and the price tag (it’s not overly expensive, as far as nice notebooks go). For my stationery nerds out there, I’ve tried Shinola, Moleskine, Appointed, Leuchtturm1917, but I always go back to my W&D Note To Self!
