Construction is well underway, framing is just about done and we’re already a quarter of the way through (per our construction invoice lol 🫠)! How fast was that?! By the end of this week, electrical will have been roughed in and ready for the fixtures to be mapped out, exact locations and all. It’s kinda making my head spin, tbh. Without jinxing it, we are currently on track for the space to be handed back over to us at the end of July, which basically feels like tomorrow, and I find myself spiraling a bit with thoughts like: Am I ready to do this, f’real? This is going to be a huge schedule change for us as a couple. Man, I’m going to be SO tired. And god, I hope everything works out and that it’s as good as I want it to be.
Before I get too ahead of myself, today, we’re talking about lighting! I’ll be sharing my lighting plan, lighting fixtures, how I went about choosing fixtures, and, most importantly, how much I spent! 😬
I knew I wanted to create a space with a warm, ambient glow throughout. The question is: where’s the line between too little lighting and too much? I feel like this is typically where experience comes to play (which I have none of, in a commercial setting), meaning I won’t 100% know until it’s all installed and the lights are on. Don’t worry, everything is on a dimmer at the very least. One thing I knew: I made sure to stay away from harsh lighting by sticking with fixtures that have frosted glass shades or using fancier matte white porcelain bulbs to pair with any exposed bulb fixture.
