Over the last year, nothing about my journey has been stable. My schedule, my income, my day-to-day routine, my career trajectory, my general direction in life, none of it has been clear or consistent. My life since July 2022, around the same time I started this newsletter, has been one big, fat experiment. It was (and truly still is), as Alexandra Cadiz had once described her life, like throwing spaghetti at the wall and seeing what sticks.

The metaphorical spaghetti:

I would love to document this chaotic period in my life, maybe I should try writing a paid newsletter! Let me try freelancing while I work on Xiao Ye; I should try starting two businesses (at the same time)! Why don’t I start freelancing under other solopreneur designers first, but how do I land my own design clients so I could charge more? Wait, does client work even make me happy or do I prefer to design for myself? Back to the restaurant, let’s see this full-on commercial project through and take it through opening. But merch! We should try doing some merch and move into products and lifestyle in the future. What about getting into creating media content, video and photo, to take people along on this journey? Should we do a podcast (maybe later!)? I need to start gathering content for a potential design/cookbook in the future!
